Accidents can happen anywhere, at any time, to anyone. Someday you might be called upon to aid a relative, friend, co-worker, or even a complete stranger. Knowing first aid and the appropriate actions to take could save that person's life. This course will prepare you to know the steps to following an emergency, to aid the person in distress until they are in the care of medical personnel.

In this course you will learn about:

  • Blood-borne pathogens
  • Victim assessment
  • Basic life support
  • Adjunct life support
  • Bleeding and shock
  • Injuries and wounds
  • Medical emergencies, such as poisoning, heart disease and stroke
  • Environment emergencies including: Burns, heat and cold, water hazards, scuba diving maladies and marine life injuries
  • Victim handling

When you finished this course, you will learn how to assess an emergency, how to perform primary and secondary surveys, and how to properly move or transport a victim.
